Mark Mytton possesses extensive experience in successfully managing an international mail/logistics business involving comprehensive cross-border business activity. Prior to 1997 Mark spent time in Europe and Asia in the financial sector as an independent broker and analyst.
In early 1997 Mark was appointed Regional Director (Aspac) for Citipost Inc., a global specialist in time sensitive distribution and hand delivery, servicing the niche sectors of finance and media. From 1997-2002 Mark was responsible for the strategic management and growth of the regional business, which included expanding operations to Singapore, Australia, New Zealand and Japan while simultaneously developing a network of reliable delivery partners throughout Asia. Citipost Inc. was acquired by the British Post Office in January 2000 after which Mark spent the next two years developing alternate delivery solutions for mail and parcels, utilizing both postal partnerships and commercial alternatives.
In early 2003, Mark was appointed General Manager for one of the world's largest mail/logistics companies, Deutsche Post Global Mail (later re-branded DHL Global Mail). Based in Hong Kong with responsibility for North Asia, Mark was instrumental in leading sensitive negotiations with a key regional postal administration to a mutually successful conclusion while simultaneously introducing significant cost-saving and revenue driving initiatives to the group.
In February 2005 Mark left DHL Global Mail to launch DM Logistics.
Brian Harrison possesses over 20 years of diverse commercial experience and has been based in Asia since 1994 after leaving the UK. The majority of his experience has been garnered in Hong Kong, China and Malaysia, with associated responsibilities across the Asian region.
As the Director of Operations for Monitor Aerospace’s hospitality division in Beijing from March 1999 to April 2001, Brian was responsible for the formation of the division and the subsequent execution of all related responsibilities including Project Management, Business Development, Quality Control, Supply Chain Logistics, Marketing, Event Management and Customer Service training.
On his return to Hong Kong he joined the world’s largest Executive Search firm, MRI Worldwide, specializing in the FMCG and supply chain logistics sector.
As well as Brian’s wealth of knowledge of conducting business in Asia, he is a specialist in delivering stringent quality control and customer service programmes to both local and international workforces. Brian joined the Management Team at DML in January 2006.
Gary Cumper is a qualified Engineer, Industrial Engineer, Programme Manager and MBA. He has significant experience in the mailing and postal industry having begun life in the UK’s Royal Mail (RM) in 1982 as an electronics engineer.
During his twenty-two years with them he has managed mail centres; managed multi-million pound national projects with his rare mix of operational and technical knowledge; and worked at senior level in the Royal Mail’s prestigious Technology Centre where he was exposed to a vast spectrum from direct mailing clients and data management providers to OCR developers and automated international mail processing systems working with people from university graduates to UPU International Postal Administration representatives.
In 1996, Gary had his first taste of international consultancy for Royal Mail to provide technical and operational aid projects to Russia. He then continued to live and provide senior consultancy for RM overseas in diverse areas such as Africa, Asia, Europe and South America.
Across the continents, Gary has programme managed projects in address management, postcode designs, data management, data/postcode licensing systems and processes, strategic management, business process re-engineering, operational turnarounds, postal automation, building design and layout.
Gary decided to take early retirement in 2003 and set up consultancy on his own, primarily sub-contracting to RM’s international consultancy arm in Hong Kong.
In 2007, Gary couldn’t resist the temptation to work with friends and help continue development of an exciting, dynamic business and joined the DML management team as a Director and Partner.
Tony has been in the mail industry for over twenty years and was the Vice President in Asia Pacific of the independent cross–border mail joint venture set up between TPG, Royal Mail and Singapore Post, operating under the 'Spring' brand.
In his earlier years, Tony joined Caxton Services Company Pte Ltd as a shareholder in 1983 and soon assumed the position of Managing Director. During a five-year period, company revenues increased from S$900k to S$20m, with new subsidiaries being established in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines. He was instrumental in the joint venture formation of Caxton with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines in 1989 that resulted in a wider penetration into the international arena.
In 1992, Tony played a key role in the joint venture with the Dutch Post and Telecommunications Group to implement more innovative solutions in the complex and sophisticated distribution of printed materials.
Having already overseen the successful merger of Caxton / InterPost and Mailfast in 1997, Tony was an integral member of the development team for 'Spring' during 1999-2000 and was appointed to sit on the management board at the new company, headquartered in Brussels, Belgium.
In 2004 Tony left 'Spring' to set up In-Link Pte Ltd, providing international business linkage with a focus on South East Asia and China.
In late 2005 Tony became a Director and Partner in DM Logistics and is based in Singapore.
Tom has gained valuable experience within the logistics sector since the early 1990’s, working in sales and marketing in London within the transportation sector and relocating to Hong Kong in 1995.
Taking up the role of Business Development Manager for Citipost Asia, his core responsibilities were to forge relationships with key partners and source new business opportunities within Hong Kong and South-east Asia. During 1998 to 2000 he moved with Citipost to London and New York, holding senior management positions and gaining solid exposure in the areas of Operations, Commercial and Sales. Tom has also held the consultant position of Project Manager during 2003-2006, developing and implementing an enterprise application to manage workflow and accounting information for the Citipost / AMP group of companies.
Never far from the latest industry technology, in 2000 Tom was appointed Regional Business Development Director EMEA for NowDocs.com, an industry pioneer in distributive print technology. The position required managing sales activities into large organisations throughout Europe primarily in the banking and accounting sectors, utilising the first global distributive print model developed by NowDocs.com.
In 2003 Tom set up his own business in the UK, specialising in Knowledge Management and IT Consultancy, servicing businesses in the Distribution and Logistics sectors. Through this he has acquired a deep understanding of international mail flows and process management, as well as an insight into the needs of European mailing houses and logistics companies.
Now based in London, Tom joined the DML team as a Director and Partner in February 2006.
Carrie possesses over 15 years of Customer Relationship Management experience and holds diplomas in both Business Studies and Legal Studies. With previous experience in the Manufacturing, IT and Financial Services sectors, Carrie possesses a broad range of commercial experience and has been responsible for establishing Client Services and Operations departments in Hong Kong and Macau.
As the Client Services Manager at DML’s headquarters in Hong Kong, Carrie acts as the primary point of contact for DML clients and partners worldwide and is responsible for the daily operational requirements and the day to day management of the office. In addition to her client services skills, she has previously been responsible for project management and the implementation of quality control measures in mainland China.
Since joining DML in June 2005, Carrie has implemented detailed client services, workflow and accounting procedures ensuring DML’s clients consistently receive the highest standards of service. She is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
Alvin joined DM Logistics as Commercial Manager in September 2006 after a spell as Regional Business Development Manager for Spring, involved in strategic planning, business review and financial analysis for regional markets and conducting research into new market needs. He was also involved in product development.
Alvin spent 9 years in commercial management for Caxton services (now known as Spring in the field of international mail distribution). He operated closely with regional directors and country managers in the Asia Pacific region to develop and implement regional market specific pricing strategies. Another key role was to prepare tender bids for diverse industries such as Airlines, Bank and Financial Institutions, Publishers, Trade Development Council, amongst many others. He also worked closely with postal operators and alternative suppliers to develop effective mailing solutions.
In addition, he worked extensively with offices worldwide to share market information and carry out logical pricing analysis to ensure market competitiveness including seeking cheaper alternative distribution for both inbound and outbound shipment. He was also involved in assisting the Regional Service Quality department in preparation of Transit Time Management for testing of delivery time for new options.
In 1996, Alvin started as operational planner for Transnational in the courier market planning delivery and collection routes to achieve cost efficiency and in delivering quality control measures to ensure optimal customer satisfaction.
